Mother nature's global call to action
While I was continuing to read the book 'Letters to the Earth: Writing to a Planet in Crisis' last weekend, I wondered: who had thought a few months ago when I bought this book at Schiphol Airport, just before my departure to Taghazout, Morocco, that we would be locked down in our houses a few weeks later?
Unable to travel, unable to (physically) meet with friends and family, unable to go to your sports club, work, favorite restaurant or coffee place, unable to continue the ‘normal’ life we were living. The life we’ve always taken for granted…
Though the current situation is referred to as a crisis - which has a negative connotation - bear in mind that only crises bring about real change, growth and transformations. It allows us to get to know our true selves and keeps a mirror in front of us to become aware of who we really are.
It’s through the lows in life that we learn what is truly important to us, it’s during the off-days that we realize life isn’t about money, status, possessions or your CV, it’s during the cloudy, rainy days that we realize how much we appreciate the sun.
What if this crisis is mother nature's global call to action? A call to:
• take a step back from the rat race.
• examine what it is that makes life really worth living.
• realize what is actually important.
• evaluate what our purpose is of living together on this beautiful planet.
• let go of control and allow life to be lived.
• redefine the system.
And most importantly, a call to take all the valuable lessons we learn during this time of stillness and slow living and use them to prioritize what truly matters in life and to create a more sustainable way of living, loving, caring and sharing life on mother earth. 🌏
The most important things in life are free and always available. No matter how long this crisis is going to last, the earth will keep on turning, the sun will keep on rising, and spring flowers will start blooming. Spread love, kindness and compassion, keep faith, and stay connected!
With love,
Grace
